SAMURAJ
Eclipse BIRT allows professional report developers to produce dynamic and
interactive reports, and generate and present them by means of the BIRT
Report Engine. The Report Engine can be integrated into an application
via the appropriate API or called by means of a Java Bridge.
Users and businesses can now administer the BIRT Report Engine via a
standards-based portal environment and automatically generate reports.
The new SAMURAJ Portal allows BIRT reports to be created and managed via a
powerful and user-friendly browser interface. Individual client, rights
and role management allows for control over which users have access to
corporate data. Reports can thus be created on time or to react to the
right events and be distributed automatically to each of the recipients.
All of the report parameters are automatically considered and the user
group is automatically determined when a report design is loaded. One
or more reports can be included in a job during job creation. It is
thus possible for a user to create complicated workflows and let
SAMURAJ process them. The clear and concise masks for the scheduling
functionality fulfil just about every need possible for time and event
scheduling.
The user can quickly view the status of his or her jobs at any time and can, if need be, intervene or allocate additional tasks. Unnecessary functions have deliberately been left out.
Finally, SAMURAJ has a new, standards-based portal environment that allows users
to start, view and distribute BIRT reports, which is easy to use and is
intuitive. There is no need to allow time to get used to the interface
or to provide long-winded training programmes. SAMURAJ can be set up to
run on any platform in a matter of minutes.
